Play Submissions
Submit a show for consideration by the WCT Play Advisory Council.
Please read the guidelines and expectations prior to submitting a title. Complete the entire form for EACH title you are suggesting for consideration. LIMIT (3) shows per person.
2026-2027 Guidelines for Shows to be Considered
1. Play or Musical has the potential to be financially successful.
2. Minimum of (4) actors for Mainstage productions. Exceptions can be made.
3. Must fit within the image of Waukesha Civic Theatre’s community friendly and equitable mission.
4. The ability to be produced on a modest budget.
The basic formula for selecting the genre of the seven Mainstage shows is:
Two-to-three musicals
Two-to-four comedies/farces
One drama or mystery
Goals for 70th Season:
-An equal representation of gender in authors
-A representation of equity and diversity in content, casting dynamics, and authorship
-Variety of cast sizes (small, medium, large) and a Variety of male/female roles
-Opportunities for actors of all ages (children 5 to 19, adults 20 to 59, seniors 60+) to perform
-Variety of time periods and settings
Play Advisory Commitee
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Play Advisory Review Committee for WCT’s 69th Season. If you have served on the committee in the past, there are a few new processes that have been changed or implemented last season. We will be selecting a committee from the applications received and our goal is to have a sitting committee that represents our whole community.
WCT has very specific and intentional goals to increase representation of age, gender, gender expression, national origin, disability, and sexual identity and we intent to invite a variety of individuals to the table to have a voice in our season programming. The common thread is EXPERIENCE IN THEATRE/PLAY SELECTION.
Our review committee members are required to attend all three meeting dates so that we have continuity and don’t have to repeat what has transpired in the meeting before.
