Academy Productions

WCT Academy Productions are a theatre training program that gives students the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of participating in and creating a full production while learning skills that can be applied on and off stage - critical thinking, collaboration, mindfulness, and more.

Production Information

This is an audition-based, tuition-based Academy production. Auditions are open to actors ages 13-18.

WCT Academy Teens bring myth to life in Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses, based on Ovid’s first-century epic.

The play weaves together familiar and rarely-told stories of transformation, juxtaposing the ancient and the contemporary to explore love, loss, and the inevitability of change. The ensemble embodies mythic figures like Midas, Eros and Psyche, and Orpheus and Eurydice through moments of joy, heartbreak, and daring.

Visually and emotionally captivating, Metamorphoses invites audiences to reflect on the fluid nature of life, identity, and the world around us – a poetic and unforgettable journey brought vividly to life by these talented young performers.
