Waukesha Reads Keynote Speaker

Diane Wilson is a writer, educator, and environmental advocate who has published four award-winning books and is the author of this year’s Waukesha Reads title. Join us as she explores the cultural and historical importance of Indigenous oral storytelling traditions, her work with Native organizations in restoring seeds, and why our stories are seeds for the future we hope to create. A Q&A and a book signing will follow.

Pick up your free tickets at the Civic Theatre box office, at waukeshacivictheatre.org, or at the door.  Copies of Wilson’s books and refreshments will be available for purchase.

About Waukesha Reads

Waukesha Reads provides citizens the opportunity to come together to read, discuss and celebrate a single book and author. Since 2007, the program has been coordinated by the Waukesha Public Library and its many community partners. Waukesha Reads is designed to promote reading and unite our community through great books by providing citizens with opportunities to come together and exchange ideas through the discussion of literature, providing a wide range of programs and events that appeal to members of our diverse community, engaging our population in learning about the wider world through the eyes of different authors and types of books, and distributing free books and inviting all to share the experience.
