Greetings from Green Lake

A new work created as a a part of World Premiere Wisconsin

by Deanna Strasse

Best friends and roommates Lynda and Melinda have spent their entire lives taking care of others, and, as they approach retirement age, they are ready to focus on themselves. For Melinda, that means finally writing that anthrozoology book she’s always wanted to pen. For Lynda, that means coming to terms with her supposed gift to reawaken the dead. Things get complicated when Melinda’s anxious and uptight niece Beth comes to visit, throwing their idyllic though unorthodox life into a tailspin. Between a very dead bird, a very live tortoise, and these women all trying to figure out the secret to life, the city of Green Lake, Wisconsin may never be the same.

We are proud to be one of the nearly 50 theater companies a part of World Premiere Wisconsin, a statewide festival celebrating new plays and musicals running March 1 – June 30, 2023, presented by the Ten Chimneys Foundation! From the tip of Door County to the state line, @worldpremierewi  has got something for everyone!

Experience a bold idea, locally brewed with pride, right here in our great state!  The new works created for World Premiere Wisconsin will explore, illuminate, and celebrate the vastness of Wisconsin’s story, culture, and the many people who make up this great state.
