A message from Executive Director, Rhonda Schmidt

Dear Friends and Family of WCT,

The Waukesha Civic Theatre Team reaches out to you with love, strength, and healing as our community struggles and grieves. So many of our family and friends are reeling from the loss of loved ones, are channeling positivity and prayers for those who are fighting for their lives, and are supporting those who are on the long path of recovery.

This will take time.

We are here for you in any way that we can be of service and will continue to work to lift up our community in this difficult time. It is in moments of great joy and great struggle that a community comes together and Waukesha continues to show its strength as we rally together to help and heal.

Just like all of you, we are working on ways to help our grieving community. Art is our gift – it is what we do, and how we show connection, love, and community. We also know that seeing or being a part of making art can heal the body, heart, and soul. This is one way that we can use our gifts to help.

Several members of the cast of Sister Act were at the end of the parade lineup, preparing to turn on the route before the tragedy began. They have come together with the support of WCT, to use performance to heal their hearts and souls. The Sister Act Director and Artistic Production Team were at the theatre for rehearsal on Sunday, and were a tremendous part of the theatre’s efforts to shelter and reunite families. The Leadership Team of WCT will be forever grateful to the extended team who helped care for our community in need.

We will heal together. We will continue to look for ways to help. We will lift up those who need help and shine a light on ways that you too can help.
