A brand new musical tribute that explores the music, pop culture, and politics of the 1960s and 1970s that defined an era fueled by the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the quest for all things groovy.

All roles are open. Please find descriptions below.

Character Descriptions

THE REVOLUTIONEERS – The Revolutioneers perform the majority of songs in the show ranging from pop to classic rock to disco to folk music. They also are involved in a lot of sketch comedy routines. We are seeking 6-12 men and women between the ages of 16 – 50. Our hope is to gain a true mix of vocal abilities and ethnic backgrounds to facilitate these roles.

CHARLES FONTAINE – Charles is the host of the production. Charles is a man between 40 – 60 years of age. He has an element of class to his delivery keeps the show’s rhythmic tempo going. Think 1 part Johnny Carson, 1 part Ryan Seacrest and 1 part Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone. This is a non-singing role, but does have a large amount of dialogue in the production.

SANDY CHEVELLE – Sandy is the co-host of the production. Sandy is between 20 – 35 years of age. Unlike Charles Fontaine, she does not give enough attention to keeping the production moving at a swift pace. She is a bubbly, free spirit that is quite comedic. Think Goldie Hawn on Laugh-In. This is a non-singing role, but does have a large amount of dialogue in the production.

BENNY – Benny is a stagehand at the theatre. This role is open to gender. Benny should be between 20-35 years old. Benny is eager to help and wants to impress Charles Fontaine with his attention to detail. However, Benny is not the brightest of individuals. Think any character performed by comedic actor Eddie Deezen. This is a non-singing role.

THE GERI-ACTIVES – The Geri-Actives are a group of 4-8 men and women between the ages of 60-80 who desperately want to be involved in the show. They are found in a fair amount of comedic moments throughout the show and perform a couple of the songs as well.

Rock 'N Soul Revolution will perform August 23-25, 2019, at WCT. Tony Davis s directing.
