PLAYMAKERS, along with ACAP Players, provide daytime performances (often of original works) based upon school curricula, themes, and ideas relevant to children at various stages of their education.  While offered primarily to school groups, these family friendly shows are great for Public, Private, and Home School groups, Boy and Girl Scout troupes, senior centers, and your family!  Tickets are only $5 (or $4 each for groups of 10 or more).  

ACAP (Adaptive Community Approach Program) is a community based non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage people with disabilities to achieve their highest potential and acquire life-long skills which will enable them to become contributing and valued members within their communities.

The Waukesha Civic Theatre’s PlayMakers and Art Links’ ACAP Players production of Folk Tales Around the World, features humorous animal tales from six different countries, each offering a life lesson or moral. Presented with colorful masks and authentic music, the production includes opportunities for audience participation.
 Folk Tales Around the World, funded in part by a grant from the Arts Alliance of Waukesha County, will run from October 11th – 17th, 2007.

This parody of the classic tale of trickery and vanity deals with peer pressure and individuality as Emperor Trump encounters two charlatans who exploit his weaknesses.  While all the king's horses and all the king's men are swept up in courting the king's favor, it takes one voice from an unexpected source to teach us to "do what's right, because it's right."
