Come Back by Neil Haven Written by Board Director, Sara Mertz
Welcome to the fourth show of our 2019-2020 Season. This show explores how humans grieve in their own way. The loss of a loved one should not be taken lightly, yet local Milwaukee playwright Neil Haven, chooses to take on this story and write from the heart with a little humor gracefully thrown in.
In this story, Sky losses a very close and personal friend Erin, who was a high-spirited person and seemingly the opposite of by-the-books Sky, who has a fear of flying. However, Erin makes one final request of Sky: take a roadtrip across the United States with her remains. Sky takes not only a physical journey across America, but an emotional one as well. As the story unfolds, so do truths about Erin’s life and death.
Haven chose to write every character as non-gender-specific in the script, to let the director decide who works the best together on stage to move the plot along.
That being said, I would like to extend my thanks to Mark E. Schuster, the director, and those who came out to audition. We encourage you to audition for our upcoming shows, however if you rather enjoy the shows as a patron, a Flexpass Membership may be something that interests you.
